Is GST Applicable i.e should the insurance company levy GST on the group Mediclaim policy taken by company (i.e a commercial establishment) for the benefit of its employees?

Yes, GST is applicable even though employees benefit, the policyholder is the company, hence it is treated as a taxable supply of service.
