Useful Life Computation as per part C of Schedule II of CA,2013
One of my client being a Pvt Ltd Co.engaged in manufacturing Activities.
The Company has installed CCTV Cameras within Factory Premises for overall reviewing the manufacturing activities by the owners.
Also there is Administrative Office in the Factory Premises itself.
The production activities can be reviewed by the directors through such CCTV cameras being controlled from the Administrative Office.
Now query is whether such CCTV Cameras are considered as Office Equipment or Plant Machinery for the purposes of determining useful lives as per part C of Schedule II of CA,2013.

Office equipment, because production is possible even in the absence of CCTV and hence not Plant and machinery.

CCTV is not for production. It have only monitoring function. Should be office equipment.

CCTV cameras should be cosidered as office equipments either installed in office or factory premises because same will be working as a administrative tools.

CCTV should be classified as office equipment since it is part of internal control system mainly though it is relating to production.
