12A Registration

Online application for 12A registration was made in January 2020. Trust was created in the FY 2019-20. But till now we have not received any communication, Should we apply u/s 12AB

Hi Mr. T.R.S. PATHY SENTHIL, Income tax dept. has 6 months of time from the date of the 12A application to dispose off the same. You have applied for registration in Jan 2020 and hence till June end you need to wait for the notice from exemption dept. requiring the documents to be produced for verification. Or it is better to visit the Income tax dept. exemption wing once with the application to follow up and to know the status of the application. Hope it will help for your query. Thanking you.

I agree with MALLIKARJUN PENALA sir. In addition, all the pending applications for 12A/ 80G will be considered as application made under new scheme. Please note that CBDT has extended the implementation of the new scheme from 01-06-2020 to 01-10-2020.
