  • Anti-dumping duty on carbon black imports

    The government has imposed definitive anti-dumping duty for five years on carbon black imports from China and Russia used in rubber applications.
    In the case of Russia, an anti-dumping duty of $36.17/tonne has been imposed. For carbon black imports from China, a duty of $397.10/tonne has been imposed on six exporters. For the rest, the duty has been pegged at $494/tonne.Carbon black, also known as acetylene black, has two applications — rubber and non-rubber. It is used in the production/processing of rubber (including tyres), as a reinforcing filler.
